Some places just know how to make you feel at home. Baraka in Kreuzberg is one of them. Cozy interior, warm service, good honest food.
La Lupa, just around the corner from Görlitzer Park, brings a real taste of Rome to Berlin. This place is all about authentic pasta — simple and delicious. They also offer gluten-free pasta options without sacrificing flavor.
This is one of our favorite places in Berlin. It’s just, actually really good. A brunch, lunch, and dinner restaurant serving modern European fare, Sorrel focuses on local/seasonal produce.
The bold claim Tossakan makes on their menu — "It doesn't get more authentic than this" — might feel like a bit of an overstatement to anyone who has tasted truly great Thai food in Thailand. Still, the food here is certainly authentic, flavorful, and very-well executed.
A good matcha latte is rare in Berlin. It’s becoming more available but it’s still a dismally underrepresented commodity.
Kitten Deli impressed us with really smooth, well-balanced hummus and tahini. The potatoes were especially good, with a flavorful spice coating that added both taste and an interesting texture.
Kimchi Princess serves up a spread that’s oh so yummy. The chili paste and sesame oil combo was so good we couldn’t stop dipping.
I go to Spindler to, in effect, get out of Kreuzberg. At Spindler (a fine-dining brasserie) you can sit at a delicate bistro table under a striped awning overlooking the canal (sometimes fully sun-drenched) and have yourself the kind of breakfast you can expect in London (though French options are on offer, it’s not exactly Paris).
We loved the Aera Cherry White Chocolate Chip Cookie: crispy on the edges, with a center that satisfies every munchies craving. As a surprise, a burst of fresh cherry comes through – a sweet-sour note that perfectly balances the creamy sweetness of the white chocolate. Sweet enough to please any sweet tooth, but far from crossing into sugar overlord territory.
Here you get Tacos dense with flavor and moisture. We had the Birria tacos, Campechano and Al pastor. All sooo yummy!
Hallesches Haus in Kreuzberg is a laid-back café with a well-designed, spacious interior. The high ceilings, natural light, and simple decor make it a pleasant place to spend a morning or early afternoon—whether you’re meeting friends or just looking for an inviting co-working environment.
If you’re looking to advance your brunch game to something other than your Berlin classic of sourdough bread and poached eggs, cozymazu is your spot!
This Pakistani restaurant in Wedding doesn’t bother with the trappings of 'refined European taste'. You'll get unfiltered flavors - guaranteed!
Patakha manages to be that rare experience— an Indian restaurant that serves Indian food which actually tastes like Indian food! How beautiful, how magical!
